Reeling Camera

On this necklace, the embroidery is covering one of the pieces of wood. It then continues on the fabric, but it is slowly 'degrading'. This is a metaphor for the way in which 'selfies' are taking over our day--to-day lives, through making us constantly needing to show the world what we are up to. The symbols represent 'the Reel', a popular symbol in Romanian embroidery, that stands for the universal force that keeps everything going, alternated with the 'Selfie camera' symbol.
